We will be having TWO 2-day herding clinics this July, 2023. This clinic will be FREE with the purchase of a dog from us, or a future purchase (deposit required) of a dog from us. Don't worry, you can still come and just pay for the clinic if you're not purchasing a dog from us. We have a couple spots left for each clinic, and clinic size is limited to 10. Border Collies to Manage Canada Geese
You can come to us or we will deliver the dog to you (additional charge). All handler training is included in the sale price.
Border Collies have an inherent ability to herd that’s been honed through hundreds of years. That’s what makes them so uniquely adept at working with livestock.
However, these dogs are not born knowing how to handle geese— an untrained Border Collie can harm a goose instead of simply driving it away.
It's essential to teach goose dogs how to scare away geese without touching or harming them. Canada geese are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) 1918, and they cannot be killed or harmed outside a small hunting window.
At Goose Dogs For Sale, we harness that natural ability by working in the field on actual Canada geese.
We also train our Border Collies at our property, where we house 4 domestic geese named after rock stars: males Prince & Axel, and females JayLo & Nikki, for their fluffy bottoms.
Every Border Collie you buy from Goose Dogs For Sale includes handler training of your new dog and a 6-month warranty.
When you buy a dog from us, we will send you videos of the training of your new dog in progress to keep you up to speed at all times. You will also receive a free lifetime consultation on top of the 6-month warranty. Owner Cathy Benedict has over 20 years of experience in this field. Goose Dogs For Sale: Expert Training for Dogs and Handlers
Apart from rigorous and expert goose dog training, every dog you buy from us is healthy and current on all shots, parasite-free, and microchipped. All our Border Collies are registered with the American Border Collie Association (ABCA) or International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS).
